Serir Logistic Kavir Transport Company began its activity in 2021 in the field of transportation of mineral products as well as basic and strategic goods in Iran. This company operates as a capable nationwide logistic company with fifty-four trailer trucks, twenty of which are Dima and thirty-four of which are Futon. One of the facilities of this company is a seven-hectare operational site in the central terminal located in Bahabad industrial town in Yazd province, which includes a repair shop, administrative and service units, and a warehouse. In 2022, this company obtained a transportation license from Iran’s transportation and road organization. Serir Logistic Kavir Transport Company, emphasizing the principle of customer orientation, strives to provide logistic services, especially fast, safe, and affordable transportation, by using GPS to accurately control the movement of trucks on the route and optimal delivery of the cargo at the planned destination. We are using sets of innovative solutions to complete the supply chain with the aim of strengthening the economic foundations of society and meeting the interests of all stakeholders. In order to increase the productivity of the distribution network and reduce exchange costs in Iran, Serir Logistic Kavir Transport Company has set its vision to become a virtual cargo transportation company to reduce buyer and seller costs and eliminate middlemen to make transportation transparent.
Compared to rail transport and other methods, road transport has several advantages. The main advantages of road transport are its flexibility and adaptability. Trucks are flexible because they offer door-to-door service without intermediate loading or unloading between the origin and the destination. Trucks also have the versatility to transport products of any size and weight over any distance, thanks to the wide range of vehicles available. Moreover, road transport provides suitable services to its customers, with less damage and casualties than rail transport and more than air transport. Road transport also tends to be faster than rail transport, especially for small shipments.
From an economic perspective, road transport has a relatively low fixed cost because it uses public high-speed road networks, which are often free of charge. However, the variable cost per kilometer is high due to fuel, tires, maintenance and especially labor costs. Therefore, this mode of transportation is more suitable for small shipments and high-value products, as well as short-distance movements.
